{Magic of the Mundane}

Today, I am joining Sofia over at Sofia's Ideas for Magic of the Mundane. I so love this idea because it totally falls in line with my desire to get back to simple. It can be a picture, a poem or song, a short video or anything else that celebrates the Magic. So often, we get caught up in "where we're going" that we forget to look at the beauty of "where we are."

Today I am celebrating that couple up there.  That's me and Car Guy. What I'm celebrating is the mundane day to day life that we share....the laundry, the dishes, the bills.  You see, that man and I will celebrate 19 years of marriage next month and a little over 21 years of being a couple.  By some standards, we've been together for a looong time and by others, not so much.  But we keep plugging along.  I'm so fortunate to find a man that is so committed to us and our family.  I'm not trying to paint a rosy picture.  It hasn't always been easy, but he's always there.

On paper, we might not make a lot of sense.  I'm that dorky, hippie chick and he's...well, he's my Car Guy.  He loves cars, mechanical thing, video games, etc.  Me, not so much.  I prefer quiet, reading, crochet and knitting.  Where we meet is that our family is everything to us.  We'd prefer to be at home with our family than out and about.  We are both homebodies.  We love our friends and love entertaining....at home. We make it work and try not to let the small stuff get to us. We don't give up on each other and in this day and age, that's magic.

    You are so right, in this day and age, it is a rarity to find a couple that is committed to staying together. Happy Anniversary to you both. How will you be celebrating? I'm guessing something at home?
