Friends

L-R: Suz, Annie, Me, Dawn, Mel
I know you've heard me go on and on about my "Biscuits,"  but I'm going to do it again.  I have to say that I heartily love these women...and they aren't all in this picture, but they are there is spirit. This has got to be the most wonderful, non judgmental, supportive group of women I've ever met. They will hug you when you cry, offer bail money if needed, share your secrets, support your dreams and help pick up the pieces.  There is no competition (which can sometimes happen with women - stupid!). We are all different and celebrate that difference.

I think the reason why I appreciate these women so much is because I've had the other kind of friends...you know, the fair weather friends.  They talk a good game, but in the end, they are only in it for themselves....what can you do for me and when that stops, so does the friendship.  With this group of women, we do for each other without asking.  I can't tell you how enriched my life has become with these ladies quietly (and sometimes not so quietly) behind me, encouraging me and supporting me and each other.  It's watching what they do for each other that makes me appreciate all that they do for me.

Thank you ladies!

  7. Oh what would we do without our girlfriends? I have two besties. We've been friends since high school. We may only get the chance to get together once a year, but we keep in touch always - email has really helped in that department!

  8. What a wonderful group of friends. While I have many friends, I have yet to find that kind of friendship. I do still hope one day I will.

  9. You're so lucky to have such a neat group of friends. Would you believe that my friendship situation is improving due to my blog? One of the ladies that found my blog lives nearby and so far we've met for lunch twice, it's Gracie. I've invited her to visit the farm when the Rhodies are in bloom. And another crochet/Rav friend named Betsy came to visit me at the falls while I was volunteering and is coming through town again soon and we might meet up again. YAY!! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  10. The very best of friends. I have a friend, we have been friends for just over 33 years, we walk together whenever we can. I was with her this morning supporting our Oxfam walker friend. She isn't crafty, doesn't read books, infact does nothing that I do, however we have stayed friends through thick and thin. Blessed aren't we!!!

  12. I would say that you are fortunate, but you already know that, as this post exudes the gratitude you obviously feel for having these friends in your life. I think it says a lot about who YOU are, Melissa. You are awesome! That is all. ;0
