No Yarn Today

If you've spent any time around here, then you recognize this little guy.
His name is Smokey and he's about seven years old.
Yes, he is as sweet as he looks. He's also a funny guy.
He likes to eat strawberries and lettuce.
He finds the funniest places to sleep.
Just an FYI, sinks are good on a hot day....

Last night, he gave us quite a scare and we ended up taking him to the emergency vet clinic. Turns out he had a urinary track blockage, which is not uncommon with male cats.  The poor little guy had to have an IV and a catheter.  He was NOT happy.  We finally got to bed around 2:15 am....yawn. I'm tired, but thankful.  He will be coming home later this afternoon and I know someone else who will be happy....
While they aggravate each other like most siblings do, he's wandering around the house this morning looking a little lost without his brother.  So there is no yarn today...just a tired mama who is very glad her furrbaby is going to be alright.

  1. Oh no! Poor Smokey!! We have one cat who is prone to UTIs and crystals. It can be very scary. I'm glad he's on the mend, but I know it is very stressful to have a sick furrbaby.

  5. I am so happy that your cat is feeling better. Emergency visits are not fun for animals or humans.

  7. Poor kitty. Hope he is feeling much better today and you have had some rest too! Cats are so funny where they decide to curl up. Jacinta

  8. Oh, the poor little thing! Our cat George had to go to the vet recently for a UTI, which hadn't gotten to the blockage point, thank goodness. I love the sink photo!

  11. Wow. I'm glad he's OK. I didn't realize UTIs were a common thing for male cats! How horrible. I'm sure everyone will be glad to have him back home.
