{Magic of the Mundane}

Today, I am joining Sofia over at Sofia's Ideas for Magic of the Mundane. I so love this idea because it totally falls in line with my desire to get back to simple. It can be a picture, a poem or song, a short video or anything else that celebrates the Magic. So often, we get caught up in "where we're going" that we forget to look at the beauty of "where we are."

This week is definitely going to be an "in the moment" week.  My oldest baby is graduating Saturday.  He's growing up so quickly!  That's what I want to celebrate.  The everyday going ons of raising a child.  The good, the bad and the ugly.  Try to enjoy and cherish EVERY moment because they go from this....

To this.....

before you even know it.

So enjoy the bath times, the bedtime stories, the spilled milk, the restless nights and everything that goes along with being a mama because it is so fleeting and precious.  Get all the hugs and kisses while you can and don't worry about the sticky mouths and dirty hands when they reach for that hug or kiss.  Those gestures are priceless.

Please forgive this mama if there just a few more tears around here.  They are happy tears full of pride for the young man he is turning into.

  4. Congratulations to everyone! Thank you for the reminder to hold tight to these "in the moment" moments. Even though my little one is only 2 1/2 I already get stomachaches thinking about her growing up!

  5. So true. I try and remember this. Most of the time I do. Then there are those days...you know the kind. Where it seems impossible we'll all survive, much less make it to graduation. Looks like you made it! Congratulations.

  9. You should be so proud, Melissa! I enjoyed meeting and talking to your young men. When they can hang with the adults for a few hours, you've done something right!

    Being a mom is definitely bittersweet.

  11. Being a parent, every moment is bittersweet, isn't it? We are so proud at how "big" they are, but a part of us is always thinking "when did they get so big?". I know that I will be where you are soon enough, and I know I will cry too. Thank you for sharing your tears with all of us...

  12. Congratulations to your "little" one! What a big milestone! It's already struck me how fast the time goes and I regret not reveling more in the moment. That's something that I'm trying to do more of. :)
