{Magic of the Mundane}

Today, I am joining Sofia over at Sofia's Ideas for Magic of the Mundane. I so love this idea because it totally falls in line with my desire to get back to simple. It can be a picture, a poem or song, a short video or anything else that celebrates the Magic. So often, we get caught up in "where we're going" that we forget to look at the beauty of "where we are."

This lovely white monster is my dishwasher.  Most kitchens have them as standard equipment these days. It is emptied and refilled on a daily basis, sometime more than once.
This is a sink full of dirty dishes.  This happens on a daily basis as well.  It is my sons' duty to empty the dishwasher and fill it up every day.  It is my duty to remember to turn the dishwasher on at night before I go to bed so that we wake up to clean dishes.  Sometimes, this mama forgets.  So imagine my pleasant surprise this morning, when I found the dishwasher running because someone is looking out for their mama....now that's magic.

Happy Monday!

  1. Sounds like you are raising a pair of very considerate son's!

    PS- have you tried spin pins in your hair? I use 4 of them and they help with the headache hair.

  2. With just the two of us now, I do the dishes by hand. The benefits are I get to drink from my favorite coffee cup every morning!

  3. Awh, I love those little gestures that show they care, that's genuine "magic". You are raising gentlemen that will make their wives very happy one day... When you want to know how a man will treat you, all you have to do is look at how they treat their mama, right? *sigh*

  4. That is awesome! The dishwasher in itself is magically mundane... but the fact that you have some considerate and helpful sons, makes this moment seem that such more extraordinary! Thanks for sharing!

  7. No Kelly, no dishwasher here either. That would be my job, most of the time.
