And The Earth Moved.....

http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/recenteqsww/Quakes/se082311a.html
I experienced the most unusual thing yesterday.  My first EVER earthquake.  That's right, earthquake, here in good ol' North Carolina.  The epicenter was in Virginia and it rated a 5.8 to 5.9, depending which new service you subscribe to. The picture above is more info and here's a link to the site.

It was quite a bizarre thing, like everything did a little shimmy and then went back to normal.  My first thought was that an eighteen wheeler backed into the loading dock and that's why everything shook.  It's happened before.

Anyway, we are all fine, if a little shaken.  Below is a picture of some of the damage incurred.  We will rebuild, perhaps with stronger material :)

Hope everyone else is having a wonderful week!

  1. We had an earthquake one time here when we were in bed and I heard the windows rattling in their frames. Glad you're okay!!

  3. Hehe, you are funny, it's like the damage at my place after a quake, the pot stand was on it's side, and thank goodness the pot was right side up and the plant ok.
Just read your post below this one, I know what you mean about your sister, sometimes you just want that connection and a hug. You were very pretty back then, but you know what??? you still are, just a little older is all.
